Mark Southgate

My name is Mark Southgate, welcome to my website Poc a Poc Ibiza.

I am an artist and maker from Brighton in the UK. After many years, working as a charity fundraiser in London, I retrained as an upholsterer an felt I had finally found my vocation.

During a trip to Ibiza in 2005 I fell in love with the natural beauty of the place and the relaxed pace of island life. Eight months later I moved here permanently.

Poc a poc is Catalan for ‘little by little’ and this became my mantra after moving here as I adjusted to settling in to a new culture. It was the name I gave to my first dog, an Ibizan hound  (Podenco). The phrase has evolved into my brand name and encapsulates my approach to life.

Poc-a-poc Ibiza  offers upholstery and soft furnishing commissions and arts and crafts workshops. I also exhibit and sell my own original artworks.
